Andrew Bley Memorial Coming to Mountain Creek
The second annual Andrew Bley Memorial race is coming to Mountain Creek Speedway Sunday, April, 30th. Andrew Bley was an EMT and safety worker at Mountain Creek Speedway serving the track before passing from Covid-19 in 2021 at the age of 29 years old. Since his passing, Bley’s family started this memorial race in his honor. Andrew started his fire fighting career in his young teens, eventually mentoring junior firefighters coming up through the Atwell Volunteer Fired Department Junior Program.
“We’re excited about the race coming to Mountain Creek”, said Bley’s stepfather, David Bregoli “He worked there for a few years, he was part of the family. We think Mountain Creek Speedway is the perfect place to have this benefit race for him. The money we raise is going to the Atwell Volunteer Fire Department Junior Program. Last year we raised just shy of $500. This year our goal is $1,500. We would love to find a title sponsor for the event to spread the money around to the competitors and the charity alike.”
“We are very excited about the Andrew Bley Memorial racing coming to Mountain Creek Speedway this year.” Said, track owner Adam Stewart. “Andrew was a big part of our track family and we really miss him, he was taken way too soon. We’re also excited about a twenty-five lap 450 Outlaws race in his honor.” In the meantime, testing and practice sessions are on hold until the speedway staff is finished with renovations.
