Racing action continues this weekend at Mountain Creek Speedway. It is race number two on the schedule for the flat karters and outlaw kart crowd. Opening weekend went off without a hitch as fourteen different divisions hit the track Saturday night with six more arriving Sunday.
“We plan to streamline things, said Adam Stewart, owner and promoter of Mountain Creek Speedway. “We will have a more robust and detailed itinerary for the outlaw kart racers this week and the coming weeks in an effort to get things running smoothly.” New and added features have been coming with each week and season at the speedway by the creek. The track recently switched to the MyRacePass app for timing and scoring and to serve as a digital bulletin board to assist the competitors with qualifying, driver profiles and lineups.
The other added feature over the winter was the advent of live streaming of all races at the track this season. “It’s baby steps to get better.” said track public relations director, Derek Pernesiglio. ‘We had more subscribers than we anticipated in our first week. As a company we can now control our own video programming to give our marketing partners a bigger platform to present their business.”
Gates will open this Saturday for flat kart racers at 3pm with practice beginning at 5pm. Sunday outlaw kart competition will see gates open thirty minutes earlier at 12:30pm with practice beginning at 3pm Those who can’t attend can tune in live on mountaincreekspeedway.tv When the track isn’t racing, it’s busy Monday through Friday with testing and practice sessions for everything from flat karts to national midgets. The track will also be available for testing and practice days throughout the year. Those wishing to reserve rental or testing days can contact Jason Queen at (828)413-6890 for details and availability.
