2021 Winged Outlaw Kart Rules

Safety & Procedures

  1. The officials of the track;(race director, flagman, etc.), have the final say in all matters pertaining to the track spectators & drivers. No threatening talk or actions towards officials will be tolerated. Failure to comply with this rule will result in immediate removal from property with no second chances.
  1. No alcohol or drugs will be tolerated. Anyone on the property suspected of being under the influence by the officials will be removed from the property.
  1. Reckless driving will not be tolerated. If you intentionally cause a wreck or wreck someone else while racing under caution you will be parked. Multiple offences will result in indefinite suspension from property.
  1. The staging area between the pit area and the track is for karts, with one driver and one crew member per kart only. This is the area for pre race lineup and practice entry to the track. Never enter the track without the direction from a race official.
  1. To exit the track during a race or practice proceed to the infield of the track, stop, and wait at the designated area until track officials direct you to exit the track during caution.
  1. All drivers must obey flagman’s commands. Failure to do so will result in suspension from event. This is for your safety as well as other drivers.
  1. You must know these flag rules:

Green Flag. When the green flag is displayed the track is open for racing. The green flag signifies the start or restart of any race, qualifying, or practice. No passing before the green flag. Initial starts will double file. Restarts will be single file.

Yellow Flag and/or caution lights mean caution. When the yellow is displayed, slow down. Unless there is an immediate wreck or kart in the way do not over apply brakes, let off of the throttle and coast to a caution speed. We will not race back to the flag.

Red Flag. Stop on the track as soon and safely as possible. Do not drive through an accident. When the red flag is lifted we will be under caution and do not start until directed by the officials.

Black Flag. Proceed to the pit area via infield track exit procedures. See rule 5. You have been disqualified from the current race.

Blue Flag with yellow stripe means to move over the leaders are overtaking you and you are about to get lapped.

White Flag means one lap to go.

Checkered Flag means the race is finished.

  1. Spectator’s must stay behind and off of the fence at all times. No one will be allowed to enter the track except for drivers and their karts. If there is a caution, race officials will tend to the karts. If a crew member is needed for assistance with the kart do not proceed onto the track unless directed by a race official during a red flag condition.
  1. All children must be under constant supervision by a parent or guardian at all times. We are not a babysitting service. Failure to comply with this may result in expulsion from property.
  1. Event times and schedules are not set in stone. Rely on our social media page for information regarding practice time and races.
  1. In the event of a rainout no refunds will be given but keep armbands as a rain chack for a future event. Armband rain checks will be good only for the next event.
  1. Safety is our number one priority. Long hair must be tied up appropriately. Gloves, DOT or Snell full face approved helmet, and approved karting neck braces are mandatory. All Drivers must have jackets, long pants, and full coverage shoes. A race-suit is recommended, but not required.
  1. Winged karts drivers MUST have proper 5 point harness and approved neck restraint.
  1. All karts must be in good working order and must be approved by officials before entering track and have appropriate numbers. All weights must be painted white and double-nutted. Anyone knowingly operating a kart without brakes will be disqualified from the event. Engines must be equipped with approved mufflers as well as chain guards.
  1. No oil will be dumped on the ground. Please bring appropriate containers to keep used oil and take to the appropriate disposal facility.
  1. Racecievers will be mandatory for all Kart Classes. This will be for Track to Driver only communication. Any team caught with radio communication from crew to driver will be disqualified.

Class Rules:

  1. In all classes, engines must be equipped with approved mufflers as well as chain guards.
  1. LO206 Engine Protest Rules: Any team can protest forward. Protests can not be made for someone finishing behind the protester. $150 Protest Fee and $50 to accept. $150 will go to the winner of the protest and $50 will go to the tech official.
  1. Beg. Box Stock and Box Stock Wings will be required to run Hoosier D20 slicks with at least three 6.00 width tires. No tires shall be greater than 8.00 width. TIRE PREPPING IS PROHIBITED. Tires may not be prepped, cut or sanded. Random sampling will be done periodically to ensure compliance. Race procedure: Washing is prohibited until the end of the night. Any team violating tire rule will be disqualified for the event and be subject to a $500 first time penalty, $1000 second time penalty and so on.

Tire Protest Rules: Any team can protest forward. $ 175 Protest Fee and $100 to accept. Winner of the protest will receive back $175. The Protester will designate which tire to tech. The track reserves a right to Protest a tire at any time. 

  1. Transponder must be mounted on the Steering Support bar in the front of the seat closet to the floor pan.
  1. 4 kart minimum to race in all classes.
  1. Open Division:
  1. Engine: Must be a single cylinder dirt bike engine with only one Carburetor.
  2. Minimum Kart and Driver Weight is 450lbs. 4 strokes greater than 451CC will need to weigh 475lbs.
  3. Drivers must be at least 14 years of age. Expectations can be made by the track.
  4. No alcohol for fuel. Gasoline only.
  5. Front wings will not be allowed.
  6. Side Sails must not be above the cage rail or extend more than 3 inches behind the main cage
  1. Stock Yamaha 450 Outlaw Kart:
  1. Engine: Must be Stock YZF450 Yamaha Dirt Bike Engine.
  2. Minimum Kart and Driver weight is 475lbs.
  3. Drivers must be at least 14 years of age. Exceptions can be made by the track.
  4. No Alcohol Fuel. Gas only.
  5. Front wings are not allowed.
  6. Side Sails must not be above the cage rail or extend more than 3 inches behind the main cage
  1. Intermediate Division:
  1. Engine: 250 four-strokes must be stock bore and stock stroke. 125 two-strokes must be stroke with a max cc of 145.
  2. Weights: 415 for 250s and 375 for 125s.
  3. Driver must be at least 10 years old. Exceptions can be made by the track.
  4. No Front wings of Right side sails will be allowed.
  1. Jr. Wing Division: This Rules Package is Based on the 2021 Briggs & Stratton 206 Engine Platform. Below is The Only Allowed Changes From Those Rules.
  1. Carburetor
  1. The Carburetor will be converted to run on methanol.
  2. Modifications listed below are the only allowed changes and parts will be compared to a know stock part
  • Main jet hole size is not a tech item but main jet must originate from stock main jet.
  • Low speed jet hole size is not a tech item but low speed jet must originate from stock low speed jet.
  • Main fuel nozzle through hole is non-tech with no other modifications to the nozzle.
  • There are two methanol needle jets available from Briggs & Stratton and one of the two must be used without modifications. 
  1. PT# 555649 (DID)
  2. PT# 555691 (BHA)
  3. Air Filter
  1. Any air filter permitted
  2. Air filter must mount directly to carburetor
  3. Filter may not be used as an air ram and must filter from all areas as raced
  4. Any open areas in the filter must be covered with filter sock.
  1. Cylinder Head
  1. Modifications listed below are the only allowed changes to all others dimensions and 206 rules will apply.
  2. The cylinder head gasket surface can be machined.
  3. There will NO longer be an overall minimum head thickness check only a combustion chamber minimum depth of .300 inches minimum.
  4. Any single or dual valve spring allowed.
  5. Any aluminum or steel retainers allowed. No titanium retainer allowed.
  1. Head Gasket
  2. Cometic H3590040S MLS head gasket (BSA-304-40 Dyno Cams Number) must be used with no gasket sealer to be used.
  1. Flywheel/Ignition System
  1. Stock unaltered flywheel with stock unaltered plastic flywheel fins.
  2. Offset key or no flywheel key is optional there will be no ignition timing rule
  3. Ignition coil will be changed to Briggs PT# 557125 “Red” 7100 RPM coil.
  1. Engine Block And Piston
  1. Crankcase seals will be removed and no longer a tech item.
  2. Block deck surface may be machined and  piston pop-up can not exceed .035” above the deck surface. When measuring the piston pop-up use a .500” square bar stock in parallel with the wrist pin and use a dial indicator to check the pop-up in the center of the bar.
  3. Piston will be changed to Briggs World Formula Piston and must remain as supplied from the factory. Two sizes will be approved for use
  • PT# 557121 Std. Bore
  • PT# 557122 +.010 Over Bore
  1. Max bore will be 2.705 for wear
  2. Factory Briggs rings must be used.
  • Three rings are mandatory and installed correctly.
  • Rings must be self supporting in the bore of the engine in tech.
  • No machining of rings allowed with the exception of lapping and end gapping maximum ring gap .050
  • Rings must be in one piece when removed from the engine.
  • Minimum width top two rings .095
  • Thickness of top two rings .059 – .064
  • Oil ring minimum width .065 ring groove must be present expander ring must be installed but can be trimmed in overall length.
  1. Connection Rod
  2. Connecting rod must be changed to ARC-6249 billet rod as supplied by ARC and will be compared to know stock part from ARC.
  1. Camshaft
  2. Camshaft must be changed to Dyno Cams AN-Mod1-WC-CR and this is the only cam allowed
  • Max Lift at the cam is .310
  • Max Lift at the valve is .310
  • Max Duration at .050 is 248 degrees checked at valve with 0 lash
  • Max Duration at .200 is 153 degrees checked at valve with 0 lash
  • Compression relief should be left in stock as these engines will still be pulled started like current 206 engines.
  1. Crankshaft
  2. Aftermarket billet non adjustable crank gear dyno cams number DC-1346 is allowed to be installed in stock location on the crankshaft.
  1. Exhaust System
  2. The same RLV 5530 header will be used but the muffler and muffler clamp will be removed. The pipe will just be open on the end. No muffler system.
  1. Age limit for this class is 10-18. Any racers 10-12 has to be approved by track.
  2. Weight: Driver and Kart must weigh 350lbs.
  3. Must run shoe type clutch
  4. Wing must be box stock wings with a center 32 x 35 inches, left side 40 x 20 inches, and right side 40 x 14 inches. Left side panels are allowed but must not exceed the rear cage. NO right side sails or any other aerodynamic devices will be allowed.
  5. Spec Tire! Hoosier Threaded D30. Right rear 11.5 x 8, Left rear and right front 11 x 6.5, Left front 11.5 x 5. No Prep Class.
  1. Box Stock Division:
  1. Engine: LO206 Engine Rules Apply
  2. Fuel: Must run pump gas from a normal roadside fuel station open to the public. This fuel can be ethanol free.
  3. Weight: Driver and Kart must weigh 325lbs.
  4. Ages 8-14 years old.
  5. Wing must be box stock wings with a center 32 x 35 inches, left side 40 x 20 inches, and right side 40 x 14 inches. Left side panels are allowed but must not exceed the rear cage. NO right side sails or any other aerodynamic devices will be allowed.
  6. Must run a sprint car style bumper. No flat kart style bumpers allowed. Must extend back a minimum of 7” from end of front rail.
  1. Beginner Box Division:
  1. Engine:  LO206 Engine Rules Apply. MUST run Green Slide (.490 opening).
  2. Fuel: Must run pump gas from a normal roadside fuel station open to the public. This fuel can be ethanol free.
  3. Weight: Driver and Kart must weigh 285lbs.
  4. Ages 5-9 years old.
  5. Wing must be box stock wings with a center 32 x 35 inches, left side 40 x 20 inches, and right side 40 x 14 inches. Left side panels are allowed but must not exceed the rear cage. NO right side sails or any other aerodynamic devices will be allowed.
  6. Must run a sprint car style bumper. No flat kart style bumpers allowed. Must extend back a minimum of 7” from end of front rail.
  1. Cadet Box Stock Division:
  1. Engine:  LO206 Engine Rules Apply. MUST run Red Slide (.440 opening)
  2. Fuel: Must run pump gas from a normal roadside fuel station open to the public. This fuel can be ethanol free.
  3. Weight: Driver and Kart must weigh 285lbs
  4. Ages 5-8 years old.
  5. Wing must be box stock wings with a center 32 x 35 inches, left side 40 x 20 inches, and right side 40 x 14 inches. Left side panels are allowed but must not exceed the rear cage. NO right side sails or any other aerodynamic devices will be allowed.
  6. Must run a sprint car style bumper. No flat kart style bumpers allowed. Must extend back a minimum of 7” from end of front rail.
  7. After winning 3 features with more than 5 karts the racer has to move up to Beginner Box Stock Division.
