Doubleheader Weekend Kicks Off 2021 Season
The New Years Kickoff, a two day doubleheader weekend is scheduled Saturday and Sunday January 9th and 10th beginning the 2021 season of racing at Mountain Creek Speedway. After an impressive showing of flat karts and outlaw karts from the Santa Shootout to close the 2020 season, speedway promoters and owners Adam and Rebecca Stewart concluded a change in schedule would help all the racers during the winter months of competition. “We had such a great kart count from the Santa Shootout on the 19th but figured a two day event works best for everybody’s schedules,” said Stewart.
The New Years Kickoff begins Saturday, January, 9th with all flat karts in competition at the speedway by the creek with all outlaw kart class competing the following day on January, 10th. “We want to move the show along and understand in the cold months nobody wants to be outside any longer than they have to,” explained Stewart. Along with an expanded schedule, fans and competitors were met with new improvements at Mountain Creek Speedway like expanded pit area and new bathroom facilities as more amenities are added throughout the coming season.
The New Years Kickoff will also be race #4 for the 2020/2021 Winter Series at Mountain Creek Speedway. Gates open at 12noon, Saturday with practice beginning at 2:30pm. Entry fee is $35 for Adult classes and $20 for junior classes. Pit passes are just $10 for ages 13 and up, $5 for ages 6-12, under 5 are FREE.
